Soccer Game Preview: James Island vs. Dutch Fork

The James Island Trojans will head out to challenge the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. James Island is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times James Island and Fort Dorchester had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Trojans never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Wednesday. James Island's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last eight matches.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Gilbert who was credited with the victory on Wednesday. The Indians got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Dutch Fork's four.

Dutch Fork dropped their record down to 7-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for James Island, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.

James Island beat Dutch Fork 2-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
