Softball Game Preview: Westampton Tech Panthers vs. Gloucester County Tech

Westampton Tech is 0-4 against Gloucester County Tech since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Panthers will host Gloucester County Tech at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Westampton Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Holy Cross with a sharp 15-5 win on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Gloucester County Tech earned an 8-5 victory over Washington Township on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for Gloucester County Tech in their matchups with Washington Township: they've now won four in a row.

Carly Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Kroupa, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Ashley Vossenberg was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Gloucester County Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington Township only posted a batting average of .296.

Westampton Tech's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Gloucester County Tech, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
