Basketball Game Preview: Lejeune Devil Pups vs. Dixon Bulldogs

Lejeune hasn't had much luck against Dixon recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lejeune Devil Pups are taking a road trip to square off against the Dixon Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lejeune is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They were outmatched by Croatan and fell 66-23. The Devil Pups were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-11.

Meanwhile, Dixon took a blow against Northside - Jacksonville back in December of 2024, falling 45-17. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Lejeune's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Dixon, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lejeune was dealt a bruising 53-22 loss at the hands of Dixon when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Thankfully for Lejeune, Payton Jeffers (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
