Basketball Recap: Jupiter Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Jupiter Christian and John Carroll Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Jupiter Christian had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the John Carroll Catholic Rams and fell 49-21. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while the Rams are ranked 219th).

John Carroll Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madi Burrowes out in front who went 6 of 15 on her way to 13 points and seven steals. Burrowes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Kali Clive was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

The defeat snapped Jupiter Christian's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. As for John Carroll Catholic, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
