Football Recap: Mountain Vista Starts off Right with Win over Liberty + How To Watch

Mountain Vista took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Liberty Patriots with a 49-45 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Golden Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in Colorado, while the Patriots are ranked 46th in California).

Marquise Reese had an outrageously good game as he threw for 410 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 410 passing yards gave him a new career-high. 119 of Reese's passing yards were hauled in by Ja'Pree Jennings, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from Robert Smith Jr., who threw for 411 yards and four TDs.

Coming up, Mountain Vista is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Clovis West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
