After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pearland, Alvin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the South Houston Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won seven in a row.

Alvin never let South Houston on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-23.

Alvin's offense was headlined by Lauren Weber and Payton Ashley, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Jatara Roland and her 13 assists. Kennedi Hansen controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, South Houston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Britney Perry had nine digs and one assist.

Alvin's win bumped their record up to 12-22. As for South Houston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-32 record this season.
