Volleyball Recap: Jersey Village Starts Season with Loss at Home

Jersey Village unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Mayde Creek Rams on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Falcons have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Jersey Village was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-18.

Sofi Novak paced Jersey Village's offense, picking up 11 kills. Novak got some help from Aubrey Peters and her 20 assists. Finally, Brandi Johnson kept Jersey Village's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Jersey Village didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Canyon on the 14th. As for Mayde Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Oak Ridge on the 14th.
