Recap: GRACE Christian Eagles vs. Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs
The GRACE Christian Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They lost to Wake Christian Academy at home by a decisive 28-14 margin. GRACE Christian lost against Wake Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in September of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 53-13 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wake Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than S. Ross burnette, who threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Carter Williams was another key contributor, picking up 73 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Wake Christian Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. GRACE Christian's QB won't forget Boaz Carlstrom anytime soon given Carlstrom sacked him seven times.
GRACE Christian's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 Hickory Grove Christian and 8-2 High Point Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Wake Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
GRACE Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wake Christian Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
