Baseball Recap: St. Edward's Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

St. Edward waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Port St. Lucie Jaguars by a score of 9-6.

Graham Hutton made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reid Morris, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nolan Ange, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

St. Edward's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Port St. Lucie, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16-1.

St. Edward's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Port St. Lucie, they will take on Oxbridge Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
