Basketball Recap: Laporte Comes Up Short

Laporte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt an 87-26 defeat at the hands of the Pine River-Backus Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Tigers are ranked 171st).

Laporte's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Pine River-Backus, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Laporte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-31 defeat against Nevis on the 23rd. Pine River-Backus has also already played their next game, a 75-44 loss against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on the 24th.
