Softball Recap: Damonte Ranch Takes Down Ranked Spanish Springs

Damonte Ranch faced Spanish Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs walked away with a 5-1 win over the Cougars. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Jocelyn Pimentel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Damonte Ranch's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Tapia, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Damonte Ranch's record now sits at 6-15. As for Spanish Springs, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-8-1.
