Softball Recap: Muhlenberg County Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Muhlenberg County waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Hopkins County Central Storm as they made off with an 11-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-2 back in April.

Bella McCarraher looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Muhlenberg County got a massive performance out of Abry Carver, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Jaycee Noffsinger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Muhlenberg County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Muhlenberg County pushed their record up to 9-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hopkins County Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21-1 record this season.

Muhlenberg County will head out to take on Lyon County at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Lyons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hopkins County Central, they will face off against University Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
