Hazelwood Central waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They beat the McCluer Comets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 back in April.

Julius Reed was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last seven times he's played. Keyon Davis was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Hazelwood Central's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for McCluer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Hazelwood Central will square off against Bayless at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McCluer, they will welcome University City at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
