Volleyball Game Preview: Canyon Crest Academy Ravens vs. Escondido Cougars + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens and the Escondido Cougars will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Canyon Crest Academy has five straight victories, Escondido has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

El Camino came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Canyon Crest Academy, but Jaz Damineni wouldn't allow it. The Ravens narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 3-2 for which the team can thank Damineni, who had six aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Canyon Crest Academy took El Camino into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-14, 25-22, 21-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Escondido faced off against Vista on Thursday. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Panthers.

Canyon Crest Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Escondido, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Canyon Crest Academy beat Escondido 3-1 when the teams last played on Tuesday. Will the Ravens repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
