Volleyball Recap: Detroit Lakes' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Detroit Lakes can bid farewell to their seven-match losing streak thanks to their match on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bemidji Lumberjacks as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Lakers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).

Detroit Lakes not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Bemidji between 20 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-20.

Detroit Lakes' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Ramsey, who had 19 assists and three aces. That's the most assists Ramsey has posted over her last six matches.

Ramsey wasn't the only good servers: Detroit Lakes was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Detroit Lakes' win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Bemidji, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.
