Basketball Game Preview: Dillon Wildcats vs. Scott's Branch Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Dillon Wildcats will jump right back in to play the Scott's Branch Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dillon will be strutting in after a win while Scott's Branch will be coming in after a defeat.

Dillon saw some tournament action on Friday. They came out on top against Manning by a score of 51-38. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Monarchs are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Scott's Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 57-36 to Crestwood. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since February 13th.

Dillon's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Scott's Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Dillon strolled past Scott's Branch in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 44-27. Does Dillon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Scott's Branch turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
