Wayne waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 78-17 victory over the Midlakes Screaming Eagles. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Screaming Eagles are ranked 620th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for Midlakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Wayne will look to defend their home court on Friday against Newark. Newark knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Wayne likes a good challenge. Midlakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
