Baseball Game Preview: Union Titans vs. Camas Papermakers

Union hasn't had much luck against Camas recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Titans will head out to take on the Papermakers at 4:30 p.m. Union's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Camas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Union's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Skyview 1-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Titans' eighth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Not much got past Jacob Chandler, who gave up just four hits to keep Skyview off the board. Chandler also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Union is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Union saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Korhonen, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Camas and Battle Ground meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Papermakers walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Tigers.

Union's record now sits at 6-7. As for Camas, their record is now 10-5.

Union might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Camas when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
