Basketball Recap: St. Monica Academy Takes a Loss

St. Monica Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-57 defeat to the Trinity Classical Academy Knights. The Crusaders were probably out for revenge after losing 95-92 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

St. Monica Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Trinity Classical Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Monica Academy will square off against Valley Torah at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley Torah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully St. Monica Academy likes a good challenge. As for Trinity Classical Academy, they will take on The Palmdale Aerospace Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Palmdale Aerospace Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Trinity Classical Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
