Baseball Game Preview: Polk County Wolverines vs. Hendersonville Bearcats

Polk County and Hendersonville are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. Polk County will host Hendersonville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Polk County is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since March 14, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of East Henderson by a score of 10-8.

Gunnar Alm made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Polk County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Karson Scruggs was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Hendersonville didn't have quite enough to beat Chase last Friday and fell 3-1. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
