Basketball Recap: Lake City Victorious + How To Watch

Lake City's tournament run continued when they took on JSerra Catholic on Saturday. The Timberwolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 66-63. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Idaho, while the Lions are ranked 70th in California) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Lake City and bumps their season record up to 4-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 points across that stretch. As for JSerra Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Lake City will venture away from home to take on Central Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for JSerra Catholic, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harvard-Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
