Football Recap: Florence Falls to Newman in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Florence unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Newman Fighting Cardinals on Thursday, falling 33-0. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florence will welcome Gibraltar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newman, they will look to defend their home field on the 29th against Wild Rose at 7:00 p.m. This will be the Fighting Cardinals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
