Recap: Chapel Hill Tigers vs. Nansemond River Warriors

The Chapel Hill Tigers waltzed into their matchup Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Nansemond River and snuck past 41-38. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Chapel Hill has scored all season.

Chapel Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Cohen Vogel led the charge by scoring nine points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Jason Kreig, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.

Chapel Hill's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Nansemond River, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Chapel Hill won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northern Durham at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. Northern Durham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 451st, while Chapel Hill is ranked 49th). Nansemond River won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Granville Central at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th. Granville Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Nansemond River likes a good challenge.
