Softball Recap: Dunbar Wildcats vs. Western Hills Cougars

Dunbar put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past the Western Hills Cougars 14-2. Winning may never get old, but Dunbar sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Jaz'lyn Robinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Robinson has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Robinson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Mackenzie Turner and Ta'Mya Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Turner went 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and a triple, while Johnson scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ariel Duran, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Dunbar has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Western Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
