Baseball Recap: Pickering Red Devils vs. Montgomery Tigers

Pickering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 10-3 walloping at the hands of the Montgomery Tigers. Pickering was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Montgomery apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on March 9th.

For Montgomery's part, Haiden Nelson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Jordan, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and an RBI.

Pickering's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Montgomery, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Pickering will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Glenmora at 4:00 p.m. As for Montgomery, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully St. Mary likes a good challenge.
