Basketball Recap: Flint River Academy Wildcats vs. LaGrange Academy
The Flint River Academy Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past LaGrange Academy 62-38. The victory was some much needed relief for Flint River Academy as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Flint River Academy was led to victory by Cole Riner and Cale Cartwright. Riner scored 21 points along with two blocks, while Cartwright dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Riner scored 15 or more points. Bode Chaney was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.
Flint River Academy's win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for LaGrange Academy, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.
Flint River Academy will take on the at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for LaGrange Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Flint River Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
