Baseball Recap: Springboro Has No Trouble Against Miamisburg

Springboro won the last time they faced Miamisburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Springboro got a great performance from Jacob Rhinehart as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Rhinehart has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nick Hutchinson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Ben Veletean, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Springboro lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Springboro's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4. As for Miamisburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Miamisburg will square off against Lebanon at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Springboro will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' match: after the Vikings face off against the Warriors, they'll take on Springboro again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
