Basketball Recap: Vassar Vulcans vs. Laker Lakers
If Vassar was riding high fresh off their 65-23 takedown of Genesee last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vassar Vulcans fell 63-50 to the Laker Lakers on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-42 back in January.

Despite the loss, Vassar still got an impressive performance from Austin Long, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 23 points and five assists. Long continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Brayden Rondo also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Vassar has been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. The victory (which was Laker's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.
Vassar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laker, they will face off against Bad Axe at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Laker's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
