Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Melvindale). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Thurston Eagles a 21-0 shutout on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Melvindale pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Thurston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
