Baseball Game Preview: New Smyrna Beach Barracudas vs. Cocoa Beach Minutemen

The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas will head out on the road to face off against the Cocoa Beach Minutemen at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: New Smyrna Beach has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Cocoa Beach will arrive with three straight wins.

Things were looking good for New Smyrna Beach after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Satellite by a score of 4-3.

New Smyrna Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Brock, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Cocoa Beach sidestepped Baker County for a 3-1 victory.

Kristian Wolfe was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Cocoa Beach's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't).

Cocoa Beach now has a winning record of 7-6. As for New Smyrna Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
