Soccer Game Preview: Jasper vs. Castle

Jasper is 1-7-1 against Castle since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 3:00 p.m. Jasper is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

If Castle heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Jasper took over last week. The Wildcats blew past Washington 5-2 on Tuesday. Considering Jasper have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Castle's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evansville Reitz. That's two games in a row now that Castle have lost by exactly two goals.

Ashlyn Francis and Charlotte Hendricks scored both of Castle's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Jasper's victory bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Castle, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

Everything went Jasper's way against Castle when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Jasper made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
