On Monday, Central Academy got the win against Queen's Grant by a conclusive 17-2.

Addison Crawford was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Crawford has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Crawford was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Hunt, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ella Storey, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Piedmont scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Forest Hills a 20-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Piedmont sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Like Central Academy, Piedmont also got a great game from a two-way player: Camryn Kaminski. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Kaminski was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Central Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Piedmont, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Central Academy might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Piedmont in their previous meeting back in March. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Piedmont's Jailyn Thomas, who struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Now that Central Academy knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
