Volleyball Recap: Worthington Kilbourne's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home + How To Watch

If Worthington Kilbourne was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Westerville Central on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolves fell just short of the Big Walnut Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Worthington Kilbourne sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-23, 20-25, 25-15, 22-25, 15-6.

Despite the loss, Worthington Kilbourne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Audra Bailey had 11 digs and one assist.

Big Walnut was led to victory by Sydney Hamilton and Peyton Gordon. Hamilton had 15 digs and two aces, while Gordon had 15 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Gordon has posted since October 7th.

Worthington Kilbourne's defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6. As for Big Walnut, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

While Worthington Kilbourne had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
