Soccer Game Preview: Emery vs. Emerald

The Emery Spartans will head out to take on the Emerald Aerouants at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Emery has three straight victories, Emerald has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Emery had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt St. Vincent de Paul on Wednesday. The Spartans never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. That seven-goal margin sets a new team best for Emery this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Emerald's offense. They came up short against Freedom on Friday, falling 5-0.

Emerald's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16-1. As for Emery, they now have a winning record of 6-5-2.
