Preview: Green Ridge Tigers vs. Stover Bulldogs
Green Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Stover Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Green Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Green Ridge scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Monday. They came out on top against Concordia by a score of 72-59. Given Green Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Concordia is ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Stover waltzed into their contest Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They strolled past New Bloomfield with points to spare, taking the game 65-47.
Green Ridge pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Stover, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Green Ridge suffered a grim 70-47 defeat to Stover in their previous matchup back in January. Can Green Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
