Volleyball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Burlingame

Burlingame had won three straight home games and Sam Hollrah did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Menlo-Atherton Bears for which the team can thank Hollrah, who had 12 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last eight times she's played.

While Burlingame might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Menlo-Atherton scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 28-26.

Despite the loss, Menlo-Atherton still got an impressive performance from Kylie Winters, who had 17 digs and two assists.

Burlingame's victory bumped their record up to 17-13. As for Menlo-Atherton, they moved to 21-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Burlingame and Menlo-Atherton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Half Moon Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (165 vs. 338). Meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton (ranked 66th) will meet Woodside (ranked 824th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
