             On Friday, St. Xavier faced Archbishop Moeller in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The St. Xavier Bombers took  a  45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Friday (31), the Bombers still had to take the loss.
 When it comes to explaining why St. Xavier lost, don't look at  Chase Herbstreit. Despite the final result, he rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 165 yards and a touchdown. Herbstreit really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 80-yard run.  Jake Britt was another key player, gaining 133 total yards and a touchdown.
 The  defeat snapped St. Xavier's winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 3-2 record. As for Archbishop Moeller, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road.
 St. Xavier will head out to  take on Elder  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. St. Xavier knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Elder likes a good challenge. As for Archbishop Moeller, their road trip will continue as they head out to face La Salle at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. La Salle will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something Archbishop Moeller surely won't give up without a fight.
