Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Cross Lanes Christian

Cross Lanes Christian entered their tilt with Grace Christian on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against Grace Christian by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against Grace Christian two weeks ago, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Cassidy Witt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Cross Lanes Christian let Caroline Hudson and Jordan Ellison run wild. Hudson went 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Ellison went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Ellison a new career-high.

Cross Lanes Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cross Lanes Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Grace Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Cross Lanes Christian will host Tolsia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
