Baseball Recap: Jeannette Takes a Loss

Jeannette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Avella Eagles, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Monday.

Noah Rattigan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Jeannette's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Avella, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jeannette will face off against rival Carmichaels at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Avella is set to take on their familiar foe Jefferson-Morgan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.6, the Rockets 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
