Baseball Recap: Palmyra Panthers vs. Riverside Rams
Palmyra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 8-5 to the Riverside Rams. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Ian Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Bachich, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Riverside, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7.
Looking ahead, Palmyra will challenge Pennsauken Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to square off against Doane Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverside will need to watch out since Doane Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
