Basketball Recap: Nokomis Takes a Loss

If Nokomis was riding high fresh off their 53-29 takedown of Mt. Blue last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nokomis Warriors received a blow on Friday as they fell 46-28 to the Hampden Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Broncos are ranked 19th).

Nokomis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Hampden, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Nokomis will be playing in front of their home fans against Gardiner at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Hampden, they will head out to face off against Camden Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
