Basketball Recap: Mccool Junction Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After a string of six wins, McCool Junction's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They had to suffer through a 63-36 loss at the hands of the Freeman Falcons. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, McCool Junction still got an impressive performance from Mapieu Kouchinin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. The game was Kouchinin's 11th in a row with at least ten points.

McCool Junction's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. As for Freeman, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCool Junction will square off against Sutton on Friday. Sutton will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something McCool Junction surely won't give up without a fight. As for Freeman, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Freeman Falcons duke it out with the Johnson County Central Thunderbirds at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
