Volleyball Game Preview: Gulf Breeze Dolphins vs. Lake Minneola Hawks

After both having extra time off, the Gulf Breeze Dolphins and the Lake Minneola Hawks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gulf Breeze is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Gulf Breeze is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Niceville.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, 25-16.

Gulf Breeze can attribute much of their success to Bella Ciolino, who had 19 digs and three assists. Ciolino has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Lake Minneola's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Horizon. While Lake Minneola didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Horizon 25-19 in the first set.

Lake Minneola started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18.

Gulf Breeze's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Lake Minneola, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-7.
