Corona del Sol is 6-1 against Pinnacle since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Aztecs will host the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Corona del Sol heads into the contest have just come up short against nationally ranked Xavier College Prep (Corona del Sol was ranked 31st at the time). The Aztecs lost 3-0 to the Gators on Thursday. It was the first time this season that the Aztecs let down their fans at home.

While Corona del Sol was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle came up short against Liberty on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost nine in a row.

Pinnacle's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Corona del Sol, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 28-4.

Corona del Sol beat Pinnacle 2-0 when the teams last played back in August. Will the Aztecs repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
