Dexter is 0-3 against Canton since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Dreadnaughts are taking a road trip to challenge the Cobras at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Dexter barely beat Pioneer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dreadnaughts never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. The Dreadnaughts haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Jack Sayler was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sayler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matt Clayton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Cole Novara, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Dexter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Canton entered their tilt with Milan on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Big Reds.
Dexter's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Canton, their record now sits at 18-14-1.
Dexter suffered a grim 15-6 defeat to Canton in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Dreadnaughts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
