Baseball Recap: Turlock Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

Turlock hadn't beaten El Capitan on the road since April 25, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Gauchos by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Gauchos last Friday, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Dutch Lawrence tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Turlock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Hackler, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Turlock is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for El Capitan, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Coincidentally, Turlock and El Capitan will both be playing La Quinta the next time they take the field. The Gauchos will head out to face the Blackhawks at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
