Hertz made his presence known in Shawe Memorial's 9-8 victory
Jacob Hertz turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than six strikeouts on Wednesday. Milan had no answer to Hertz as he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk).
Hertz's strong effort led Shawe Memorial over Milan and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shawe Memorial has some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since April of 2017, but a win here would be a good start.
