Volleyball Game Preview: Rigby Trojans vs. Thunder Ridge Titans

The Rigby Trojans will take on the Thunder Ridge Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Rigby is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Madison, who was ranked first at the time (Rigby was ranked fifth). The Trojans came up short against the Bobcats on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Rigby had strong showings from Breleigh Youngstrom, who had 16 digs, and Lily Stewart, who had eight digs and five kills. Youngstrom is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 16 games she's played.

Thunder Ridge not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0). They blew past Canyon Ridge 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Riverhawks: they've now won three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-17.

Thunder Ridge's win bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Rigby, their loss dropped their record down to 29-7.

Rigby took their victory against Thunder Ridge in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
