Basketball Game Preview: Chatham Cavaliers vs. Nelson County Governors

The Chatham Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Nelson County Governors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chatham has five straight victories, Nelson County has 21 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Wednesday, Chatham beat Brookville 36-24. The 36-point effort marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Jakiyah Giggetts was a one-woman wrecking crew for Chatham as she posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Ward, who had seven points.

Meanwhile, Nelson County had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of Buffalo Gap.

Chatham's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Nelson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for Chatham against Nelson County in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 61-10 victory. Will Chatham repeat their success, or does Nelson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
