Monterey entered their tilt with Chico on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Panthers.

Ella Myers was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Myers wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anaiyah Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Monterey's record now sits at 13-3-1. As for Chico, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Looking ahead, Monterey will face off against Salinas at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Dores surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chico, they will challenge Pleasant Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
